SchoolAdmissions.in Warning -

Parents are advised to practice caution applying for any schools that have come out with forms without waiting for DOE directives this year over age or dates. Last year DOE had come out with Common Admission Schedule, that ruled that schools can issue forms only between 1st Jan 2011 to 15th Jan 2011 and declare first lists only on 1st Feb, 2011.

Many of the schools broke the norms and were not willing to admit about admissions being open on their websites or giving any last date etc when you call them up. This gives clear indication that they knew what they are practicing is wrong.

So, unless those schools are among the top schools of choice in your list for your child, don't block your money in them, which might get stuck later on if you decide to withdraw and get admission in school of your choice later on.

We are still waiting for DOE and Delhi Govt. to react to this or come out with directives on this issue.

i have applied in DPS EOK. Do i need to submit the hard copy too along with the required documents in school campus?

No hard copy to be submitted.

I registerd my daughter's name thru ur site, but today i don see her name in the list of registered candidates of DPS RK puram, why so? please cross check, her registration no is E121002398HK, will DPS EOK hav seperate list from DPS RK puram?

Criteria and Timeline for admission to Pre-School approved by the Managing Committee of Vasant Valley School

The admission process has been designed for transparency and equal opportunity to all applicants. In case an applicant does not secure admission due to paucity of seats, it is in no way a reflection of the child or the parent’s calibre.

Age Eligibility: The child should be 3 years + as on 31st March, 2012

Total seats available for admission to Pre-School = 90

Seats for children under Economically Weaker Section & Disadvantaged Group (25%) - 22

A draw of lots for admission under the Economically Weaker Section & Disadvantaged Groups will be conducted on Friday, 27thJanuary, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.

The school office will be available to help all applicants from the Economically Weaker Section & Disadvantaged Groups in filling the on-line Registration Forms on all working days between Monday, 2nd and Monday, 16th of January, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

1. For proof of residence, any one of the following documents is required: Ration Card, Voter I-D card, Telephone Bill, Electricity Bill, Water Bill, Passport
2. Child’s Birth Certificate to verify date of birth
3. For First Born child – Affidavit by the parents confirming that the child is their first born child.
4. For Alumni - School leaving certificate
5. Proven track record of contribution or achievement to the Community and /or country by the parents: Appropriate Documents
6. Compassionate Grounds: Appropriate Documents
7. Overseas Transfer (within the past 2 years) & children of Armed Forces / Police personnel: Appropriate documents

List of supporting documents to be produced by parents at the time of verification for admission under the Economically Weaker Section and Disadvantaged Group

Submit anyone of the following documents under each of the following categories as proof:
1. Date of Birth:

a. Birth certificate under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Certification Act, 1986.
b. Hospital/Auxilary Nurse and Midwifes (ANM) register record.
c. Anganwadi record.
d. Declaration of the age of the child by the parent or guardian.

2. Parent Residential Address:

a. Ration Card issued in the name of the parents(Mother/Father) having name of the child.
b. Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents.
c. Voter I-Card of any of the parents.
d. Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill.
e. Unique Identity card of the mother/father/child issued by the Government of India.
f. Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.

3. Proof of Income:

a. Income certificate issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
b. BPL Ration card (Yellow coloured).
c. AAY Ration card (Pink coloured).
d. Declaration of the age of the child by the parent or guardian.

4. Proof of Disadvantaged group:

a. A certificate issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar or any other Competent Authority.
b. Caste certificate issued by the DC Office.
c. Medical certificate from Govt. Hospital in case of children with special needs/disabilities.

All admissions shall be made solely and strictly on the basis of the above mentioned criteria. EWS & DISADVANTAGED GROUP

25% of the total available seats mandated under the RTE Act will be offered to EWS/Disadvantaged Group Category. In case the number of applications exceeds the number of seats available, there will be a draw of lots to select the candidates. All eligible candidates who fulfill the criteria prescribed by the government can apply through the common application form for admission under free ship quota. The form is available on www.edudel.nic.in and a hard copy of the same can also be procured from the school office as per schedule.

GENERAL CATEGORY

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the government and keeping in view the ethos and philosophy of the Modern School, admission under this category will be based on the following 100 point criteria.

•Alumni Criteria – 30 points (maximum)
•Sibling Criteria – 20 points
•Neighborhood Criteria - 30 points (maximum)
•First born child - 10 points
•Single Parent – 10 points

IMPORTANT: Due to limitation of seats available, the school will not be able to offer admission to children of all applicant alumni and sibling cases. The school will however offer at least 15% of the general category seats to candidates who are neither under the alumni category nor the sibling category.

STAFF CHILDREN

No points will be awarded to applicants under the staff children category. Only the permanent members of staff of Modern School Vasant Vihar have a right to apply for admission of their children. In case the number of applications exceeds the number of seats available, selections for the current session will be made through a draw of lots. If the number of applications received in this category is less than the seats available, the remaining seats will be offered to the grand children of the retired staff. However such seats will be treated as fully paid seats. In case of any seats still remaining vacant in this category they will be transferred to the general category.

SCHOOL MANAGEMENT’S DISCRETIONARY QUOTA

Under the permission of the Delhi Government, 20% seats are reserved for the management of the school. The management is free to offer these seats at their discretion.

As of now I could figure out Mount Carmel and Amity International Mayur Vihar as only schools offering admission in this class.

Many schools are having vacancies for KG class, i.e 4+.

Check Modern School details posted before your post. Both Vasant Vihar and Humayun Road have 4+ seats for Prep/KG.

Check DPS International Saket too, their nursery is from 3.5 to 4.5 as mentioned on their site.

More schools are also there, just check this discussion from the beginning.
